About Ethnic Business Development Corporation

The Ethnic Business Development Corporation (EBDC) is a voluntary sector (civil society) organisation registered in England & Wales to support ethnic minorities in the UK in areas of business and organisational development. It is a network organisation representing around 700 UK based organisations active in the voluntary and community sectors. Set up in 1997, the EBDC has grown dramatically to become one of the leading and in some respects pioneering black led voluntary organisations in the Country. The organisation is governed by a Board of Directors (trustees) and a team of administrative staff and volunteers. In addition, EBDC calls on a range of associates with specific skills in the delivery of its service delivery functions. Our service areas in the UK include the following;

BusinessIncubation – a pioneering project offering office space, meeting rooms and conference facilities for new start BME businesses in London. Our business incubation project is located at BiltMansions in Deptford South London – one of the areas of multiple disadvantage identified by the DETR 88. So far, we provide amenity space for around 20 organisations comprising of private businesses, faith groups, community voluntary organisations and social enterprises. In addition, our function rooms are used by over 5000 individuals every year. We attract clients from right across London but more particularly, serve the geographical boundaries of Lewisham, Greenwich, Southwark, Newham, Bromley, Bexley and Lambeth.
